The Opportunity:
We seek a meticulous and technically proficient Technical Office Engineer / BIM Specialist. Your primary focus will be producing high-quality, coordinated construction drawings (shop drawings) for Architectural and Interior Design disciplines, primarily using Revit. You will also play a key role in supporting overall BIM management, facilitating multi-disciplinary coordination, implementing and enforcing standards, and ensuring the technical accuracy of project documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed and accurate shop drawings / construction documents for Architectural and Interior Design disciplines, primarily using Revit. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required for support/legacy tasks.
Support the management of project BIM models (Architectural and Interior Design focus), ensuring adherence to and enforcing Kathb’s BIM standards, templates, and protocols.
Facilitate and support the clash detection process between all disciplines using Revit and/or Navisworks, documenting coordination issues for resolution.
Extracting quantities and preparing schedules quantity take-off (QTO) from BIM models.
Perform rigorous quality checks and review Architectural/Interior Design models and drawings for compliance with standards and best practices before final review.
Assist in developing and maintaining Kathb’s Revit templates and family libraries under the guidance of the Design Manager.
Manage document control, including file naming conventions, versioning, and archiving on the designated platform/server.
Act as a key point of contact for Arch/ID BIM-related technical queries.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a Technical Office or drafting role within the construction/design industry.
Mandatory strong, demonstrable project experience working extensively with BIM workflows and Revit.
Advanced proficiency in Revit is essential (Architecture required, good understanding of MEP and Structure highly desirable for coordination purposes).
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Solid understanding of building construction methods, sequences, and fit-out works.
Good understanding of BIM principles, standards (e.g., ISO 19650 awareness is a plus), and collaborative workflows.
Ability to read and interpret drawings from all disciplines.
Good organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using Navisworks Manage for clash detection and review.
Experience in creating and managing Revit families (Architectural/Interior Design focus).
Experience in preparing Method Statements for general fit-out works.
Experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.
